The Captiva Civic Association will present “Island Contemporary,” a group exhibition highlighting local and international contemporary art works by critically acclaimed and historical relevant master artists, alongside local and emerging talents. This show is a museum style fine art exhibition brought back for a fifth year at the Captiva Civic Center. All exhibiting art works are available for purchase with a portion of proceeds from works sold going to benefit the Captiva Civic Association.

Celebrated local and museum artists in the exhibition include Stella Farwell, Robert Rauschenberg, Susan Sherlock, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Rosie Gilligan, Luis Lazo, Louise Nevelson, Pablo Picasso, Larry Rivers, RYCA, Strook, Vickie Vainionpää, Bernar Venet, and many others.

The art show is curated by former Captiva resident, CCA scholarship recipient and international gallerist, Robert Fontaine of the Robert Fontaine Gallery in Miami Beach. The selection of works on view represent the past 100 years of art history with a collector's preview and reception from 5 to 8p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Captiva Civic Center.

The public is invited to preview and support this delightful local event that will include live music. The show will run from the opening reception Thursday March 14 through April 25.
