Bailey's General Store, The Coffee Bar @ Bailey's and Sanibel Catering Company are taking part in the 10th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H., which is Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Sanibel Community House. They will once again be the providers of fruits, bagels and toppings, coffee service. energy bars and water to fuel the runners and their supporters.

Bailey's General Store is providing back-pack style bags to carry race day treats for runners – something the long-established island grocery and hardware store has done since the inaugural run. Bailey's General Store, formerly known as Sanibel Packing Company, was started by Frank P. Bailey, who wanted to provide groceries and general supplies to locals and visitors.

Bailey’s and Sanibel Catering Company look forward to supporting F.I.S.H. and their runners on race day,” said Calli Johnson of Bailey’s General Store. “I will be running in the event myself to show how much we are about this important island nonprofit.”

Today's Bailey's General Store provides tailored services to everyone from the first-time guest to the life-long resident, which includes a fully-stocked grocery store, deli and butcher shop, seafood market, bakery and a hardware department. With 119 years as a family-run business, it has blended a rich history with cutting-edge services of today including take-away sushi offerings from SHIMA at both their Periwinkle Way location and at their satellite store at the Sunidal resort.

The family's longtime commitment to their community has brought the three entities together in support of the 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. - an event that draws hundreds of runners from near and far for a good cause.

Since 1895, the Bailey family has been working to build the community on our island,” said Johnson. “Three generations later, that drive and will to improve without harming our little piece of paradise still goes on today. The third generation is proud to play a part in that and is planning for the fourth generation to carry on that tradition.”

We appreciate Bailey's General Store, The Coffee Bar @ Bailey's and Sanibel Catering Company who donate so much of their time and efforts to F.I.S.H. and the community at large,” said Ed Ridlehoover.
