Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ is a Gold Sponsor of the 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. – a popular island event that benefits an organization the congregation appreciates for its work with those in need.

We hope our support of F.I.S.H. of SANCAP will not only provide resources for people when needed, but also the reassurance they are not alone in their struggles,” said SCUCC Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. John Danner. “We are happy to be a small part of that outreach.”

Congregants have been committed to serving the wider community since the church's beginnings. Each year, the congregation dedicates a portion of its operating budget, as well as special offerings, to grants for local and national non-profits. SCWIM, the woman’s group, supports F.I.S.H. and other organizations from fund-raising efforts such as “Rookery Bookery.”

We appreciate the work F.I.S.H. does in addressing the increasing and changing needs of Sanibel's residents and workers who help make this island a special place,” said SCUCC Associate Pastor Rev. Deb. Kunkel.

The SCUCC congregation lives by their denomination's motto: No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here. “We hope all who walk through our doors experience they are a beloved child of God,” said the Rev. Danner.
