The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company continues to be a partner of The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum through its support of various educational programs and events.

For all those who have ever searched for the perfect shell, the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum is a rare find. It is the only museum in the country solely dedicated to shells and the animals that make them, mollusks. It will soon be breaking ground on major renovations that include an aquarium for further research of live mollusks and expose humans to these rarely seen creatures.

After all, this accredited natural history museum is home to world-renowned malacologist Jose H. Leal, PhD, marine biologists, and highly-educated volunteers who are passionate about the study of shells, mollusks and protecting our oceans amazing biodiversity. Among its many educational programs, the Museum offers school programs, community outreach programs and daily beach walks.

For the 15th year, the Trust Company will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Museum’s 2019 Under the Sea gala. Guests enjoy a delectable dinner, sip signature cocktails and learn unique and exciting surprises about shells and mollusks. Additionally, the Trust Company will partner in an exclusive event in the spring and be a sponsor of the month in 2019.
