Susan Seeley Marks, Sanibel, died Oct. 12 following a 3.5-year battle with lymphoma.

She and her husband, Dr. Phillip Marks, had been residents of Sanibel since 2003. She was a volunteer at SCCF (native nursery, mangrove monofilament collection via kayak, turtle and snowy plover nest monitoring). A nurse, she served as Vice Chair of the City Vegetation Committee and cooperated with the City Department of Natural Resources. She was a volunteer at the Sanibel Library and at the Forum of Big Arts.

She is survived by her husband Phillip Marks, daughters Jennifer Haas and Heather Marks, granddaughter Seeley Haas, grandson Asa Jansen and sister Sandra Counts.

A celebration of her life will be announced in the future. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her honor to the charity or organization of choice would be appreciated.
