Join WGCU and go On the Road for a day of marine education and exploration Tuesday, Feb. 26 on a visit to the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Sarasota.

The day begins when the luxury bus leaves WGCU Public Media on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus at 8 a.m., headed for a two-hour private eco-boat tour through Sarasota and Roberts bays. A guide will lead the group on a short nature walk on an uninhabited island and then provide an opportunity to collect samples of marine life with a trawl net to observe and handle some of the curious residents of Sarasota Bay.

Passengers also will learn about Florida ecology and wildlife on a tour of the Mote Aquarium. There is a restaurant on site for travelers to have lunch on their own.

The group will be back at WGCU at 5:30 p.m.
