Rejoin photographic journalist, Rick Bunting, as he returns to present a new program entitled "2018 Stories From a Roadside Naturalist” as part of the Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Lecture Series, at 7:30 PM on Thursday, Feb.7 at the Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way. Rick will again utilize his unique perspective and excellent photos to expand on Nature around us to reveal many interesting beings and their activities.

Rick's program will feature observations, stories, and photos of a variety of wildlife found near his home in central New York and elsewhere. It will follow, more or less chronologically, his year of 2018. Most of the photos to be included are literally from the local roadside although he does include some photos from his yearly visit to Florida as well. In this time of wonderful programs on television that take us to exotic and secluded places to view the wonders of the natural world, Rick believes it is important to focus on that which is readily accessible to remind us all that the magic and mystery of Nature is close at hand for all to see and enjoy.

Rick Bunting is Professor Emeritus from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where he served as Chair of Music Education and Conductor of the renowned Crane Chorus. His retirement has allowed him to pursue his interest in birds and other wildlife. The idea of taking pictures evolved from a simple desire to share what he was seeing. That sharing has become programs presented to a wide variety of organizations including bird, garden and naturalist clubs, Audubon groups, and service, social and church groups. Rick has also developed a personal online following of those who are privileged to receive his almost daily photographic email updates.
