James Evans, Director of Natural Resources for the City of Sanibel, will visit Sanibel Sea School at 5 p.m. Friday, March 8 to speak about sea level rise, environmental challenges, and our community’s plans and options as we face these issues.

Evans has been employed by the City of Sanibel since January 2000, when he started working as a Conservation Officer. Since 2012, he has served as the Director of Natural Resources.

Evans earned his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and his Master of Science in Environmental Science from Florida Gulf Coast University. He has worked on several key habitat restoration projects including Bowman’s Beach Park and Lighthouse Beach Park.
