Lauren Bond, 41, Naples, Fla., told Sanibel Police she had fallen asleep when her vehicle struck the back of a stopped vehicle operated by Thomas Gaynes, 59, Burr Ridge, Ill. Both vehicles were traveling on Periwinkle Way at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, near the Bailey Homestead. Bond was cited for careless driving and not having her driver’s license with her at the scene.

Abigail Clinger, 17, Fort Myers, was traveling east on Periwinkle Way at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, when she made a turn onto North Yachtsman Drive and struck a vehicle operated by Christopher Collins, 53, Chicago, Ill. Collins’ vehicle was slowing for the stop sign on North Yachtsman when Clinger’s vehicle crossed the white stop bar and struck the front left-side of his vehicle. Clinger was cited for careless driving.

Robin Krivanek, 89, Sanibel, backed her vehicle into a parked vehicle at the Sanibel Public Library Tuesday, Feb. 19, and left the scene. Sanibel Police later found her at home, where an officer educated her on reporting any vehicle collisions to law enforcement.

William Loesel, 35, Michigan, was traveling west on Periwinkle Way at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, when he stopped for traffic near Dixie Beach Boulevard and the back of his vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Abel Avila-Alcocer, 68, Lehigh Acres.
