MacKenzie Hall will be busy Tuesday morning with Sanibel Planning Commission and its Below Market Rate Housing Review Subcommittee meetings at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. respectively.

Commissioners will consider an application from Sanibel Fish House on Periwinkle Way to add a 23-by-42-foot patio with 26 seats on the west-side of the building. The applicant is proposing to reduce indoor seating from 200 to 174, which is not required, but means eliminating the need to purchase additional sewer connection charges for the outdoor seating area. It also means the existing parking remains sufficient.

The Sanibel Fish House application is the only item on the Commission’s agenda. The Below Market Rate Housing Subcommittee will be briefed on the Community Housing & Resources program, including its current financial health, demographics of current residents, renovations and updates over the last year. There will also be discussions on the program’s growth and development, along with suggested revisions to income and eligibility requirements.
