Adult Wine Course: White Grapes of World

The “White Grapes of the World” class at the Sanibel Community House starts with class discussion on the basics of how wine is made and how to taste it; answering the most frequently asked questions that will help most in learning about wine and how to buy it. The class provides the participants with an introduction to understanding the major grape varieties and where they are grown in the world. The first class in the series focuses on the major types of white grapes grown throughout the world and where they originated and where they grow best. Although the classes follow in a series, they are designed to be fun and informative regardless of the order in which they are taken or topics discussed.

This particular class will explore the following main areas:
1) The White Wines of France
2) The White Wines of California, The Pacific Northwest and New York
3) The White Wines of Germany
