Mangrove Update By Local Expert

Dr. Eric Milbrandt, director of the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation Marine Lab, will provide the community with an update regarding the area’s mangrove recovery and resiliency in response to large storm events like Charlie, Irma, Ian and Milton. Milbrandt’s research includes water quality, harmful algae blooms and the effects of seagrass and oyster reef communities. Milbrant’s knowledge of keystone species, especially mangroves, is pivotal for the health of our estuaries for generations to come.
