Veteran’s Day Celebration

Lee Coast Military Officers Association of America and the City of Sanibel invite the public to join us for our annual Veterans Day Celebration. The ceremony will again be held at the flag pole in front of the Sanibel city hall. The start time is 10:55 a.m. The Sanibel Big Arts Concert Band will start playing patriotic music at 10:45. Local Scout Troop/Pack 1740 and the Sanibel Police Honor Guard will raise the flag at 11:00 a.m. The guest speaker will be Lieutenant Colonel William Zacovic, U S Army (retired). Lt Col Zacovic was the Operations Officer for the Lee County Schools Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. Lee County boasts the largest JROTC contingent in the country. Bank of the Islands again is providing checks to the Sanibel student winners of the annual essay contest. Sanibel veterans who have passed last year will be remembered. Please join us for this celebration and enjoy the music, sing along of service hymns and honoring our veterans.
