Local Scout Troop/Pack 1740 and the Sanibel Police Honor Guard will raise the flag at 11:00 a.m. The guest speaker will be Lieutenant Colonel William Zacovic\, U S Army (retired). Lt Col Zacovic was the Operations Officer for the Lee County Schools Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. Lee County boasts the largest JROTC contingent in the country. Bank of the Islands again is providing checks to the Sanibel student winners of the annual essay contest. Sanibel veterans who have passed last year will be remembered.
