100+ Women Who Care Sanibel-Captiva, an initiative powered by the Charitable Foundation of the Islands, gathered for their third and final meeting of the season on April 1.
At this gathering, Children’s Education Center of the Islands (CECI) was awarded a $12,600 grant to support its mission of providing nature-based education to the islands’ preschoolers. Additionally, the Sanibel School Fund (SSF) was selected as the next grant recipient to support their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) program.
Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Trailways Camps Inc. and FISH of Sanibel-Captiva, both of which are making a meaningful impact in the community through their dedicated programs and services.
Reflecting on the success of the group’s first year, 100+ Women Chair Jane Majeski shared, “What a wonderful inaugural season it’s been, and we are beyond excited for what’s to come next year. We have had over 125 women join and have awarded over $34,000 to our island nonprofits.”
The meeting concluded with an inspiring quote from planning committee member and meeting emcee Pam Browning: “The strongest people make time to help others, even if they are struggling with their own problems.”
A special thank you is for the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of Realtors for graciously providing the meeting space as well as coffee, refreshments and technology. As CEO Bill Robinson noted, “We are pleased to be the venue sponsor for the 100+ Women who Care program. Many of our Realtors are 100+ Women members, demonstrating our commitment to being active members of the Sanibel and Captiva Island community”.
100+ Women will gather for a social hour hosted at Congress Jewelers (Sanibel location) on May 6th from 4-5:30 pm. This event is open to all. Attendees are encouraged to bring a friend and learn more about this giving circle’s impact.
