Anita and Bob Marshall Are Featured Artists at Community House

The Community House announced Anita and Bob Marshall as featured artists for September.

Anita Force Marshall is a local Sanibel artist who resides year-round on the island. She enjoys incorporating vibrant colors, whimsy, and a different point of view in her watercolors and collages and aspires that her art reflects her laid back island lifestyle.

She studied drawing at the Pine Castle Art Center in Pine Castle, Fla. Locally, she has taken classes with Bea Pappas, Carol Good, workshops with Pat Weaver and Marion Hall, and enjoys knowledge and guidance from her artistic mentor Anne Gates Yarnall.

She paints weekly with the Sanibel Captiva Plein Air Painters all around the islands. Her watercolors and collages have been displayed locally and on the Florida Watercolor Society on-line show. She also participates in the Sanibel Arts & Crafts Fair each year during season. She teaches watercolor and collage at the Sanibel Community House. She is a past President of the San Cap Art League.

Bob Marshall is a local Sanibel artist who resides year-round on the island. He enjoys the complexity of Zen Tangle and its form of expression from start to finish with Pen & Ink and vibrant colors.

His interest in drawing started in in his childhood and teen years. After college, and a career as a sales manager in Orlando, he and his wife, Anita, moved to Southwest Florida. This move took him into a new career as a chef, and back to perfecting his love for drawing. He is a member of the Sanibel Captiva Art League. His drawings have been displayed locally on Sanibel and Captiva. He also participates in the Sanibel Community House Arts &Crafts Fair each year during season.

The Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way, is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
