Now in its sixth presentation, this exhibit continues a tradition that began many years ago. “Since its beginning at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1976, Art in Bloom exhibits have been displayed in many places around the country,” Shell Islands Garden Club President Linda Uhler said. “We’re happy to bring this project to Sanibel and Captiva and invite residents and visitors to enjoy the collaborations on display at the library.”
This year’s exhibit will feature 14 different artists from The Sanibel Captiva Art League paired with 14 floral designers from The Shell Islands Garden Club. Each floral arrangement is thoughtfully created to interpret and complement the original work of art.
“Art in Bloom allows artists and floral designers to showcase the beauty of visual art and the inspiration of floral design,” said Maureen Ginipro, Co-President, Sanibel Captiva Art League. “We’re excited to be a part of it. ”
Guests will be able to browse the “Art in Bloom” exhibit on the second floor of The Sanibel Library, where artwork and floral designs will be displayed side by side in pairings that truly showcase the beauty and creativity of both works.
Celebrate the arrival of spring with this community tradition. Plan to attend this exhibit, opening March 16 at noon and running through noon on March 18.
