Two beloved Southwest Florida museums, the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium on Sanibel Island and the IMAG History & Science Center in Fort Myers, have partnered to offer reciprocal admission discounts for their visitors.
Visitors to the Shell Museum will receive a coupon for 50% off IMAG admission for their party, and, likewise, visitors to IMAG will receive a coupon for 50% off Shell Museum admission. Both museums hope this new discount offer will help inspire exciting new educational experiences for their members and guests.
“We’re glad to be working with our friends at IMAG to generate some extra incentive for visitors to our respective museums to try out the other one too,” says Sam Ankerson, National Shell Museum & Aquarium Executive Director. “Our exhibits and programs complement each other and have a lot to offer for all ages about science, history, and natural history in Southwest Florida.”
“IMAG is excited to partner with the National Shell Museum & Aquarium to encourage families and visitors to explore more of what Southwest Florida has to offer,” says Matt Johnson, IMAG Executive Director. “This reciprocal discount makes it easier to turn one great museum day into two—and to keep curiosity going well beyond a single visit.”
The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium is a natural history museum and aquarium, and the only museum in the United States devoted primarily to shells and mollusks. Its mission is to educate and inspire an understanding of mollusks, their shells, and their habitats using exceptional experiences, collections, and science. Permanent exhibitions on view include the Great Hall of Shells, which displays highlights of the Museum’s collection of more than 600,000 shells, as well as the Living Gallery of Aquariums and over 60 species of marine life.
The IMAG History & Science Center is an extraordinary, unique family-friendly destination in Southwest Florida featuring aquariums and animal exhibits; interactive displays, exhibits, and activities; presentations, and innovative programs designed to inspire imagination. Through the lenses of history and science, IMAG focuses on presentations and programs that advance STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math) and an appreciation for the arts, culture, and rich history of Southwest Florida.
