Bank of the Islands Collecting Back-to-School Supplies

provided to The Santiva Chronicle

Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands is serving as a drop-off location for two local back-to-school supply drives that support the academic success of Lee County students.

Now through Aug. 6, bank customers and island neighbors are encouraged to drop off donations of school supplies to any of the bank’s locations in Fort Myers, Sanibel and Captiva. Requested items include two-pocket folders, notebooks, three-ring binders, rulers, arts and crafts supplies, pencils, dry erase markers, paper, backpacks, pencil boxes, tissues, calculators and more. Donations will be delivered to F.I.S.H. of SanCap and the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools before the first day of school on Aug. 11.

“Each year, the cost of school supplies continues to rise, which puts more pressure on families who are already stretched thin,” said Robbie Roepstorff, president of Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands. “By supporting these local drives, we hope to ease that burden and make sure our children start the school year with the tools they need to learn, grow and succeed. It’s one way we can come together as a community to support our neighbors and invest in a brighter future for our local youth.”

Members of the community can drop off donations at the following locations between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., or at the Captiva location between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday:

Edison National Bank – Fort Myers:
• Cleveland Avenue Office: 13000 S. Cleveland Ave.
• River District Office: 2105 First St.

Bank of the Islands – Sanibel and Captiva:
• Captiva Office: 14812 Captiva Drive SW
• Sanibel Office: 1699 Periwinkle Way
