Bank of the Islands is returning to sponsor Sanibel’s 31st Annual 4th of July Parade this year. In addition to contributing $1,000 towards parade expenses, the bank is also helping with planning and logistics through the service of bankers Richard Shera and Susan Schulte on the Parade Committee.
“We are so pleased to rejoin the City of Sanibel and the Island Sun/Arundel Family in supporting this time-honored event as sponsors,” said the bank’s VP and Sanibel-Captiva Office manager Richard Shera. “This year’s parade theme is ‘Stronger Together’. What could be more appropriate as we gather to celebrate the resilience of our country and our island community!”
The parade viewing starts at 9:30 am at Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle Way intersection, continuing down Periwinkle to Casa Ybel Road. Judges Greg Demaras and Kate Stone Pujol will share the honors in selecting the Best Float in the parade.
“Don’t forget to stop by our Sanibel office to buy your official parade t-shirt before the big day,” said Shera. “We know of at least one very patriotic celebrity participating this year. Please keep an eye out for Uncle Sam and give him a hearty ‘God Bless America!’ as you see him pass by.”
Celebrating its 27th year as the oldest locally owned and managed community bank in Lee County, Bank of the Islands is proud to have been the winner of more than 50 “Best of the Islands” awards, including “Best Island Bank” numerous times.
For more than a decade, the bank has retained a 5-star Superior Rating from BauerFinancial. As ranked by Bank Performance Report, the bank continues to rank in the top 5 among all banks chartered in the State of Florida.
