Calusa Waterkeeper Team Speaking to Progressive Club

In response to rising concerns about our local water conditions, the Progressive Club of the Islands is presenting the Team of John Cassani, and K.C. Schulberg from the Calusa Waterkeeper at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 17 via Zoom to provide current information on the status of regional alga blooms. They will also discuss how the community can support the program.

In 1995 John Cassani was the founding member of Calusa Waterkeeper, a member of the International Waterkeeper Alliance. He started his professional life in 1978 after earning degrees in biology and fish and wildlife. From 1978-2014 he was resource manager to our local government, focusing on waterways of Southwest Florida. An author of numerous scientific papers, he is frequently sought out by government, academic and private industry on a wide variety of water issues.

K.C. Schulberg, executive director, joined Waterkeeper in 1998 serving the vital role of communicator with his background which merges film, television, marketing and fundraising with hands-on civic engagement and community organizing.
