The Captiva Community Panel is accepting nominations for the two panel-appointed seats that are coming up in December, and interested islanders are encouraged to submit their names if interested. This is also an opportunity to be considered for future panel appointments as well, should that be of interest.
The panel’s Nominating Committee – consisting of Mike Boris, Richard Sonking, Tom Libonate and Jon Rosen – have nominated John Jensen for another term and Linda Laird to fill the seat held by David Mintz (who is termed out). However, the panel is able to consider nominations from the community in addition to the slate recommended by the committee.
The panel seats are for a three-year term commencing at the January meeting. Panel members can serve two three-year terms before being termed out, and must be off the panel at least one year before they can be considered for re-appointment.
Anyone interested in being considered by the panel should submit their name and a brief resume or description of interested to the panel via email to captivacommunitypanel@gmail.com no later than Friday, Nov. 6, for discussion by the panel at its Nov. 10 meeting to be held via Zoom.
