CFI Seeks Hurricane Ian Renewal Stories from SanCap Community

provided to The Santiva Chronicle

The first anniversary of Hurricane Ian, Sept. 28, is fast approaching. Do you have a story of renewal to share?

The Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI) invites you to share stories of how strangers, neighbors, first responders and others helped the community recover.

“I’m sure we all recall the trauma we felt during and after the hurricane,” said Dolly Farrell, Executive Director of CFI. “We hope to ease that somewhat by uncovering the heartwarming stories, the moments of kindness, the shows of strength.”

Throughout September, CFI is collecting short videos and written reflections. Board Member and Sanibel business owner Rachel Pierce is overseeing the project and will share them on Facebook and other social media outlets throughout the month.

“We should feel good about how far we’ve come, and how much hope, resilience and strength are out there turning things around for Sanibel and Captiva,” Pierce said.

Scan the QR code or visit MyCFI.org to complete the online submission form. Find CFI on Facebook and LinkedIn by searching Charitable Foundation of the Islands.

CFI’s mission is to inspire philanthropy, leadership, and collaboration for the vitality of the island community.
