Community Housing & Resources has appointed Becky Boyd as Deputy Director for the nonprofit housing agency.

“I’m excited by this opportunity to connect even more deeply to CHR’s mission to provide safe, affordable, quality housing on our islands,” said Boyd. “I get to work more closely with staff to support their efforts better while strengthening our impact.

“I believe deeply in CHR’s mission and the impact this organization has on Sanibel and Captiva,” she added. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to help lead, collaborate, and grow alongside such a dedicated team.”

CHR Executive Director Nicole McHale said Boyd’s experience in nonprofit leadership and development makes her the right person for this new role.

“Becky has more than a decade of outstanding work in nonprofit service. More than that, she has a heart for our community, for the work of CHR, and for the people we serve,” said McHale.

Boyd grew up in Naples and is a lifelong resident of Southwest Florida. She studied environmental education, which she said has shaped her appreciation for Sanibel and its carefully preserved natural beauty. Boyd served in a variety of nonprofit roles in recent years before joining CHR last July as Grant Writer and Development Director. She is the mother of two children.

“Meeting CHR residents and seeing the genuine relationships the organization has built has been incredibly meaningful to me,” said Boyd. “It’s clear that CHR is about more than housing. Residents feel supported, connected, and part of the community.

“Looking ahead, I’m encouraged by how island residents, businesses, and partners are coming together around quality, affordable housing for the people who keep Sanibel and Captiva running,” she added. “As the region grows, workforce housing on Sanibel will be critical to the island’s long-term economic health. I’m proud to be part of that work.”
