The Sanibel City Council is accepting applications to fill three seats each on the Municipal Police Officers’ Pension and General Employee Pension Boards of Trustees. The deadline to apply is noon Wednesday, Aug. 24.
The General Employees Pension Board seats are two-year terms and the Municipal Police Officers’ Pension Board seats are four-year terms, all of which commence Oct. 1. Responsibilities for both boards include:
• Attending board meetings on the second Wednesday of February, May, August and November at City Hall.
• General time commitment is 15 to 20 hours per year to review materials and attend the quarterly meetings.
Any resident wishing to serve on the MPOP or General Employees Pension Board can complete and submit an Advisory Committee application online – click the apply button, complete the application then click the green submit button. It will be sent to the City Clerk.
