The City of Sanibel is hosting workshops on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for follow-up discussions regarding traffic congestion at the Causeway Boulevard and Periwinkle Way intersection. The city’s consultants have gathered survey data and public feedback from the previous workshops and are ready to present suggestions for improvements to the intersection.
There will be two workshops for convenience, from 11 a.m. to noon and 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Sanibel Recreation Center, 3880 Sanibel Captiva Rd. For those who can not attend in-person, the city will post the presentation on its website, mysanibel.com. Feedback can be provided by emailing your comments and suggestions to traffic@mysanibel.com.
Many places are replacing intersections with roundabouts .
Though they seem to working well,
however those locations don’t have as much traffic as this intersection .
I would advise against a roundabout if that is being considered .
