Corbin Speaking On Constitutional Threats To Women’s Rights At PCI Meeting

Professor of Law and Dean’s Distinguished Scholar at the University of Miami School of Law Caroline Mala Corbin will address the constitutional threat to women’s rights, particularly reproductive rights, as part of the Progressive Club of the Island’s meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 via Zoom.

Corbin’s scholarship focuses on the First Amendment’s speech and religion clauses, particularly their intersection with equality issues. Her articles have been published in major university law reviews. She writes for multiple blogs including SCOTUS blog, and is often a commentator for local and national media on First Amendment questions.

Corbin joined the Miami law faculty in 2008 after completing a post doctoral research fellowship at Columbia Law School. Before her fellowship, she litigated civil rights cases as a pro bono fellow at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, and as an attorney at the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project. She also clerked for the Hon. M. Blane Michael of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Corbin holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
