‘Ding’ Launches $80K ‘Double the Impact’ Campaign

Giving-season donors to the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) can double their donation now through Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2. Thanks to a generous donor, the Double the Impact campaign matches gifts dollar for dollar during this period to benefit conservation, climate resilience, and environmental education at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island.

DDWS has set a goal to raise $80,000 toward refuge support, including the purchase of two much-needed refuge conservation vehicles—critical tools that will expand its educational outreach and impact across Southwest Florida.

“The refuge is more than a sanctuary—it’s a living laboratory for wildlife and nature,” said DDWS Executive Director Ann-Marie Wildman. “From restoring native habitats and advancing clean water initiatives to delivering science-based lessons in underserved schools, its work protects the interconnected systems that sustain biodiversity and inspire future generations.

“For a limited time only, $25 becomes $50 for wildlife research, perhaps. $100 can become $200 for mangrove restoration, or $500 might grow to a sum of $1,000 for youth education.”

Make your match donation online here or send a check with the notation “Double the Impact” to the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society, P.O. Box 565, Sanibel, Fla. 33957.
