A group of Sanibel’s small businesses is coming together to present Shop, Dine & Shine, a community-wide celebration on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29, before the city tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.
Participating plazas and shops will offer their own festive touches – treats, music, holiday décor, and joyful in-store experiences – throughout the day. Still, the goal is simple: encourage people to make a day of exploring the island’s unique shops and restaurants before gathering for the annual tree lighting.
The following businesses are participating in Shop, Dine & Shine on Saturday:
| Adventures in Paradise Outfitters | Macintosh Books + Paper |
| A Little Adventure | On Island |
| Beach Daisy | One Island Sanibel |
| Blue Giraffe | Rachel Pierce Art Gallery |
| Bubbly Latitude | Sanibel Day Spa |
| Captiva Curio Cottage | Sanibel Pilates & Spa |
| Coast Clothing | Shiny Objects |
| The Bait Box | Suncatchers Dream |
| The Magic Bus on Sanibel | Sanibel Sole |
| The Treehouse | Synergy |
| Home by Rachel Pierce | Trader Rick’s |
| Her Sports Closet | Vero Drapes |
| JRod’s | Wickie’s Lighthouse Restaurant |
| Wilford & Lee Home Accents |
“We think shopping local is a way to celebrate Sanibel,” said Kate, co-owner of Bubbly Latitude, one of the participating businesses. “Every island treasure you choose supports a small business, local artisans, and the coastal community we all love.”
Every purchase fuels the very businesses – nearly all family-owned and deeply rooted in the island’s culture – that pour back into this community year-round.
Local shops and restaurants are the ones who:
• Sponsor our school programs and classrooms
• Support youth sports teams
• Donate to island organizations, nonprofits, and fundraising events
• Show up for community needs time and time again
The local business community has also created a special “Support Local, Win Big!” raffle designed to celebrate and reward those who choose to shop and dine locally.
For every purchase at participating businesses, shoppers will earn one raffle entry toward a prize package overflowing with island love.
In addition to gift cards and merchandise from local shops and restaurants, this year’s grand prize includes an extraordinary contribution: a two-night stay at the charming Tarpon Tale Inn, and the winner’s choice of a two-day Moke rental or golf cart rental courtesy of the Moke & Cabana Club.
Shoppers can also win multiple smaller prize packages.
Small Business Saturday is a national movement, but here on Sanibel, it’s a celebration of the very people and places that invest in our community every single day.
