Family BINGO at the Sanibel Library!

The Sanibel Public Library has planned in-person programs, including weekly crafts, storytimes, special guests, and virtual author programs. The following events are scheduled at the library from Wednesday, Nov. 19, to Nov. 29, with programs requiring registration noted accordingly.

Upcoming Library Closures:
Holiday Closure – Thanksgiving Day
On Thursday, Nov. 27, the Sanibel Public Library will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The library will resume regular business hours on Friday, Nov. 28.

Weekly Recurring Programs:
• Family Storytime – for Babies, Toddlers, Children of all ages, and their Caregivers
On Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., bring the whole family to enjoy stories, songs, movement, and early literacy play centers that spark creativity and motor skills.
• Crafternoon – for All Ages
On Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m., make a fun, engaging craft with all supplies provided under staff guidance.

• One Community, One Book: Junonia by Kevin Henkes – for All Ages (Family Friendly)
On Friday, Nov. 21, from 3 – 4 p.m., join us at the Sanibel Recreation Center for a family-friendly discussion of Junonia by Kevin Henkes.
The Sanibel Recreation Center, Sanibel Public Library, and MacIntosh Books have partnered to launch One Community, One Book, a monthly seasonal program that brings readers of all ages together to celebrate stories connected to Sanibel and Southwest Florida. Attendees are encouraged to register by calling the Sanibel Recreation Center at (239) 472-0345.

• Family Bingo! – for Babies, Toddlers, Children of all ages, and their Caregivers
On Saturday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to noon, join us for Family Bingo Day and some good-old-fashioned family fun. There will be prizes for the winners, and snacks will be provided.

• Science Saturday: The Science of Speed – for Children and their caregivers
On Saturday, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. to noon, join us as we explore the science of race cars and speed! You’ll get to build your own LEGO racecar and test it while learning about aerodynamics.

Computer Coaching
Sanibel Public Library offers “Computer Coach” services; book an appointment to bring in your device for technology assistance with Hoopla, Kanopy, Libby, and other Library apps. These apps allow Library cardholders to download eBooks, magazines, and audiobooks, or stream music and movies. Call the library at (239) 472-2483 to schedule an appointment.

Get A Library Card
Sanibel Public Library cards are available to all Sanibel and Lee County residents at no charge. You must present your valid driver’s license (or similar government ID) to staff, showing your current Lee County address. Visitor cards for non-Lee County residents are available for a $10 fee and are valid for one year. Computers, printers, scanners, and fax services are also available, as are magazines and daily newspapers.

The Sanibel Public Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
