FISH of SANCAP will host its Friendly Faces Luncheon at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Sanibel Recreation Center, 3880 Sanibel Captiva Rd. It’s a time to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by The Sanibel Deli, hear from an inspiring speaker, and connect with friends and neighbors.

FISH welcomes Susie Wilson as the guest speaker. Wilson, a remarkable woman living with Type III-IV Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), will share her inspiring life journey and experiences.

Wilson has more than 30 years of involvement with the OI Foundation, including six years on the board of directors. She brings valuable insight as the co-chair of the Tampa OI Support Group and the chair of the Bone China Tea Fundraiser.

Locally, Wilson is a dedicated volunteer at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and serves as a vestry member at Saint Michael All Angels Episcopal Church.

Her presentation will highlight her experiences growing up with OI and offer valuable advice on self-advocacy in the medical field.

“We are delighted to see people re-engaging and are grateful to the Sanibel Recreation Center and The Sanibel Deli for their support in making our monthly event possible,” said FISH Senior Services Director Erika Arnowitz.

“These luncheons provide an opportunity to reconnect and learn from our guest speakers, and we look forward to welcoming everyone in October,” Arnowitz said.

Reservations and meal choices are required by Friday, Oct. 4, and can be made by calling Arnowitz at 239-472-4775.

A virtual option is available for the event, but lunch is not provided. Zoom instructions will be supplied upon registration for virtual guests.

FISH OF SANCAP encourages all to join this informational lunch, where the incredible story of Susie Wilson will inspire guests.

“We are truly excited to hear Susie’s story,” said Arnowitz. “Her strength and resilience are sure to leave a lasting impression on all our guests. Seating is limited, so reserve your spot today!”
