The Sanibel Police handled to following area incidents:

May 8: A four-foot alligator was removed from under the front porch stairs at a residence. The alligator appeared to have lost its fear of humans and was safely taken away by a state trapper.

May 11: A traffic stop was initiated for aggressive driving and a records check revealed the driver was a juvenile with a canceled learner’s permit. The driver was issued a citation for violation of learner’s permit restriction and a criminal citation for driving with a canceled license. The driver and juvenile passenger were turned over to their parents and several electronic cigarettes were seized. The vehicle was removed from the scene by the registered owner.
