The Sanibel Police handled the following area incidents from July 23 to July 29:
Wednesday, July 24: Jose Cardenas of Fort Myers was stopped on Palm Ridge Road for failing to maintain a single lane. A records check showed his driver’s license was suspended for failure to comply with a traffic summons. Cardenas was arrested for knowingly driving with a suspended license, and his vehicle was towed from the scene. He was released from the Lee County Jail on July 24.
Wednesday, July 24: Officers issued a criminal citation in lieu of a physical arrest for excessive speed – 77 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Saturday, July 27: Zachary Crabtree of Woodford, Va., was stopped for excessive speed. He was issued a speeding citation and arrested for drinking under the influence. His vehicle was towed from the scene. Crabtree was released from the Lee County Jail on July 28.
Monday, July 29: Officers assisted Lee County Emergency Medical Services with an upset patient. After EMS cleared the patient, a records check revealed that the person had an outstanding misdemeanor summons for retail theft issued by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Officers stood by with the person until an LCSO Deputy could deliver the summons.
