Sanibel Police made three arrests from traffic stops this past week.
Police stopped Emanuel Martinez of Fort Myers on Tuesday, Sept. 3, for an expired license plate on the vehicle. Martinez was arrested for driving without a valid license and transported to Lee County Jail by police. He was released Wednesday, Sept. 4, on bond.
Police stopped Todd Riley of Sanibel on Saturday, Sept. 7, for operating a motorcycle without a license plate. A records check showed the motorcycle was unregistered and uninsured, and Riley’s license was suspended. Riley also had an arrest warrant for failing to appear on misdemeanor charges.
Police arrested Riley and charged him with operating a motorcycle without a license and failure to appear. They transported Riley to the Lee County Jail and towed the motorcycle from the scene. Riley was released Monday, Sept. 9, on bonds totaling $1,250.
Adonis Dominguez-Friman of Fort Myers was arrested Sunday, Sept. 8, and charged with driving under the influence.
Police also issued several criminal citations from traffic stops:
• Sept. 4: A driver was stopped for excessive speed and issued a criminal citation for never receiving a driver’s license.
• Sept. 6: A driver was stopped for excessive speed and issued a criminal citation for unknowingly driving with a suspended license. Police held the driver at the scene until the Lee County Sheriff’s Office could deliver a misdemeanor summons request.
• Sept. 7: A driver was stopped for excessive speed and issued a criminal citation for never receiving a driver’s license.
• Sept. 7: Police seize a license plate with a seize tag order.
