Devin Cavanagh of Fort Myers was charged with driving under the influence Sunday, Nov. 14, after an officer found him in his running vehicle just after 3 a.m. in the parking lot of Tipsy Turtle, 1223 Periwinkle Way.
Animal Reports
Police checked on a turtle Nov. 13 in the 500 block of East Gulf Drive, after receiving a call from a concerned citizen. No suspicious activity was found.
An injured bird was rescued Nov. 13 on Sextant Drive and transported to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife.
A deceased seagull was removed Nov. 13 from the beach near Tarpon Bay Road.
An alligator larger than 4 feet was reported Nov. 14 at Casa Ybel Road and Algiers Lane, but was gone when police arrived. Later that day, police received a report of an alligator in the same area, but it was gone again.
A deceased cormorant was removed Nov. 16 from the beach in the 2900 block of West Gulf Drive.
A deceased sea turtle was reported Nov. 16 in the surf near Sanibel Lighthouse. The Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation was notified and the turtle was removed.
