Kingfisher Real Estate has named Valerie Tutor as the top selling agent for July. She is a proud native Floridian and self-proclaimed mermaid who grew up on a cattle ranch near the Everglades.
In the 1940s, her family purchased land on the Gulf in Captiva, and in the early 1960s, they began making the Sanibel and Captiva Islands their favorite getaway.
Since moving to Sanibel full-time in 2009, Tutor has been deeply passionate about the environment. She is an avid boater, angler, and diver, and is actively involved in her community.
Tutor serves as a board member of the Sanibel Community House, chair of SanCap Cares, and secretary of the Government Affairs Committee for the Chamber of Commerce. She is also a past board member of Captiva Chapel by the Sea, and a past President of both the Lions Club and American Legion Auxiliary Post 123. She holds memberships in several other civic organizations.
