FORT MYERS, Fla. – Local author and acclaimed journalist Annabelle Tometich will be the featured speaker at The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company’s 2024-25 Wisdom of Women (WOW) Series on Thursday, Feb. 13. The former food writer, editor and restaurant critic for The News-Press will visit The Trust Company’s Bell Tower Office, located at 13525 Bell Tower Drive in Fort Myers, from 4-6 p.m. for the WOW program. Tometich initially took part in the WOW Series in November.
Her debut book, “The Mango Tree: A Memoir of Fruit, Florida, and Felony” was released in April 2024 to high acclaim, with the New York Times praising it as “sweet, sharp.”
Her work has also been featured in publications such as the Washington Post, USA Today, Catapult and many others. Over her 18-year professional career, she has received more than a dozen awards for her writing.
“Annabelle’s storytelling and keen insights make her a remarkable addition to our Wisdom of Women series,” said Megan Marquardt, CFP®, CFTA, Fort Myers president for The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company. “We’re excited to welcome her and look forward to the inspiration and wisdom she will share with our audience.”
Refreshments will begin at 4 p.m. MacIntosh Books of Sanibel will be at the event selling copies of the book.
