The Charitable Foundation of the Islands proudly congratulates Annie Campbell, a graduate of the Sanibel-Captiva Leadership Program Class of 2022, who will serve as Rotary International District 6960 Governor for the 2027–2028 Rotary year. She represents the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club and served as the club’s president in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.

Campbell’s appointment is a powerful reflection of her dedication to service, exceptional leadership, and deep commitment to creating sustainable impact.

As a dynamic force in Southwest Florida’s nonprofit landscape, Campbell currently serves as the director of development at The Heights Foundation, where she is spearheading a transformative $42 million capital campaign to build The Heights CareerTech school, expanding opportunity and access for countless youth and families in the region.

A proud alumna of the Sanibel-Captiva Leadership Program, Campbell credits the experience with sharpening her collaborative instincts and deepening her investment in shaping the future of the islands.

“It’s a true privilege to serve as District Governor,” Campbell shared.

“I extend deep gratitude and congratulations to PDG Kelsey Sola, DG Gerard Sola, DG-Elect Dennis Wallace, our incredible Club Presidents—past and present—and the inspiring Fellow Rotarians across the globe who lead with purpose and compassion,” Campbell said.

“I’m proud to work alongside such passionate leaders, united in service and committed to creating lasting change in our communities and beyond,” she concluded.

Dolly Farrell, Executive Director of the Charitable Foundation of the Islands, said, “Annie embodies the values we strive to cultivate in every class of the Sanibel-Captiva Leadership Program—vision, integrity, and a deep-rooted commitment to community.

“Her work is already transforming lives, and her appointment as District Governor will only expand her impact. Annie is exactly the kind of leader the islands—and the world—need more of,” said Farrell.

The Sanibel-Captiva Leadership Program, facilitated by CFI, prepares island leaders to think boldly, build partnerships, and approach community challenges with empathy and innovation.

Graduates of the program go on to lead in various sectors, including nonprofit, civic, and business, helping to shape a resilient and compassionate future for the islands.
