The League of Women Voters of Sanibel will be concluding its 25/26 Speaker Series at 11:30 a.m. April 9 at the Sundial Resort on Sanibel.
With the mid-term elections fast approaching, including the Florida primary in August and the U.S. general elections in November, it’s important that we all know the facts about how Florida holds elections. Knowing the difference between myth and fact is important.
The Lee County Acting Supervisor of Elections (SOE), Bernie Feliciano, will be doing her share of myth-busting for us on April 9th. Chief Deputy Feliciano has served the SOE office for 38 years, and she and her team “are devoted and unwavering in (their) determination to ensure Lee County’s elections are transparent, fair, accessible, and run efficiently and smoothly.”
Todd Pullman, Information Technology Director, will address concerns about foreign hacking into our voting system. Stephen Rumer, Systems Administrator and Public Records Custodian, and Gaby Aguirre, Communications Director, will also be present.
This team serves Lee County as a whole, ensuring our right to vote is protected, and our votes are counted fairly and transparently. Bring your voting concerns and ask your most pressing questions!
The LWV of Sanibel will follow the presentation with its Annual Meeting.
The program costs $35 per person and includes lunch. This year, to honor our young working Sanibelians, we are happy to offer lunch for $10 a person for those under 40.
Payment by cash or check can be made at the door. Seats are limited to the first 100 to register. Registration must be by no later than April 2nd. To register, click HERE or email lwvsanibel@gmail.com.
