Lee County VCB Executive Director Tamara Pigott speaks to the Association.

The Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of Realtors held its monthly Membership Breakfast and Caravan Meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21. It hosted Lee County Visitors & Convention Bureau Executive Director Tamara Pigott.

She delivered an engaging and informative presentation on the VCB’s ongoing efforts to maintain and build year-round tourism in Lee County.

Pigott highlighted how the bureau has been promoting the county since the challenges of Hurricane Ian, emphasizing the area’s unique coastal appeal and setting it apart from other sun and sand destinations through targeted messaging, digital and print marketing, news outlets, media relations, and visitor services.

Attendees gained a deeper understanding of how the VCB’s strategic initiatives support island and local businesses, as well as influence travelers’ decisions to visit Lee County for vacations, meetings, and group events, all of which have remained popular in the area.

The well-attended meeting provided members with valuable insights into local tourism initiatives, networking opportunities, and a chance to explore listed properties in the area during an Open Tour.

DryZone generously sponsored the event, helping to make the morning a welcoming and positive experience.
