Police responded to a minor hit-and-run vehicle crash Saturday, Aug. 6 in a restaurant’s parking lot at 1473 Periwinkle Way. A vehicle operated by Gysbertus Tober struck the parked vehicle of Joe Patrick then left the area. Officers located Tober and he acknowledged the incident.
Animal Reports
Two iguanas were sighted Tuesday, Aug. 2 and Wednesday, Aug. 3 at a home on Starling Way.
A sick or injured tern was found at Fulgur beach Thursday, Aug. 4 and transported to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife by an officer.
Two iguanas were sighted Monday, Aug. 8 on the dock at a home on Starling Way.
An iguana was sighted Wednesday, Aug. 10 in the backyard of a home on Yachtsman Drive.
An 11-foot alligator was reported Wednesday, Aug. 10 in the canal behind a home on Sand Pebble Way. It reportedly “appeared aggressive,” but officers were unable to locate it.
A 15-foot alligator was reported Thursday, Aug. 11 on the golf course at The Sanctuary, but it was no longer in the area when the officer arrived.
