Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff is pleased to announce the next celebration of Thankful Tuesdays – one of the ways the Bank is showing support as our island community recovers from Hurricane Ian.
“This is certainly a holiday season like no other as our shared recovery continues, and we hope Thankful Tuesdays can offer a little break from your cleanup activities. Every Tuesday, we are offering food, services, and other surprise gift items. This coming Tuesday, Dec. 20, for as long as they last, we are offering Christmas cookies, doughnuts, coffee, and bottled water,” said Roepstorff. “We hope you can make time for a little break and a chance to visit with our banking staff and other island neighbors. It’s our way of saying how proud we are to be your island bank.”

The program started in early November, with Bank of the Islands inviting neighbors and customers to visit the Sanibel office for refreshment and renewal. Previous offerings of support have included coffee, doughnuts, boxed lunches, 4,000 pounds of bagged ice, stocking stuffers, and stress-relieving seated massages to help those working on their homes and businesses.
The Bank of the Islands’ offices, including ATM operations, have both reopened after the hurricane. The Captiva office, 14812 Captiva Dr., next to the Captiva Post Office, is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. The bank’s Sanibel office is offering full banking services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday out of its temporary on-site operation on premise, 1699 Periwinkle Way, at Casa Ybel Road. In addition, the Edison National Bank offices, 13000 S. Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, and the River District office, 2105 First St., will continue to welcome all of the bank’s island customers.
