The Sanibel Captiva Orchid Society will meet on Nov. 17 at the Community House Founders Room, 2173 Periwinkle Dr. Doors are open at noon for orchid sales, and the program begins at 12:30 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Rafael Romero of Plantio la Orquidea, a 7,000-square-foot nursery in Sarasota specializing in warm-growing orchid species and hybrids. He will speak on “Schomburgkia Species”.
Orchid enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their ill or troubled orchids for diagnosis during the meeting’s Show and Tell and participate in a monthly plant raffle as well as orchid sales.
SCOS dues are $35 per year or $50 for a family. Guest fees are $10.
Please save the date: The Society will hold its December Holiday Luncheon at the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club on Mon., Dec. 15, at noon. The cost for Orchid Society members and guests is $35.00 per person, with a choice of entrees.
