Sanibel Police responded to a hit-and-run accident Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Lighthouse Beach Park, 153 Periwinkle Way. Toni Caruso, 34, North Fort Myers, was stopped for traffic when a vehicle came around on the left side and struck her vehicle. Caruso told officers the vehicle then continued traveling west on Periwinkle Way.
Police located the suspect vehicle a few days later and spoke with the driver, 29-year-old Jordan Klyk of Fort Myers. Klyk told the officer she freaked out after her vehicle struck Caruso’s vehicle and was “unsure of what to do.” No injuries were reported and Klyk was not issued a citation.
