Police Respond to Two Minor Vehicle Accidents

Sanibel Police responded to a couple of minor accidents the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 17 with one driver reporting pain in her neck and back.

Beth Tuyls, 46, Fort Myers Beach, had slowed for traffic in the 1200 block of Periwinkle Way when the back of her vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Linda McDonald, 70, Dover, Fla. Tuyls told officers she had pain in her neck and back, but was cleared by emergency medical personnel at the scene. McDonald was at fault for following too closely, but she was not cited due to there not being an independent witness to the accident.

Paul Manning, 64, United Kingdom, was backing his vehicle out of a parking space at the Chevron station, 1015 Periwinkle Way, when his vehicle struck a parked vehicle.
