The League of Women Voters of Sanibel will host a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Sundial Resort, 1451 Middle Gulf Drive.
Constitutional challenges raised by the second Trump Administration, as it attacks large law firms and universities for what it perceives to be antisemitism and “woke” agendas, will be the focus of the lunch conversation with Professor Lyrissa Lidsky, the Raymond & Miriam Ehrlich Eminent Scholar Chair in U.S. Constitutional Law at the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Prof. Lidsky is also a co-reporter on the Restatement of Defamation and Privacy. She has taught at Florida Law and served in various associate dean positions for over 25 years. In addition, she was dean of the University of Missouri School of Law from 2017 to 2022.
Prof. Lidsky graduated with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law. Before law school, Professor Lidsky was a Fulbright Scholar at Cambridge University in England. Before becoming a law professor, Lidsky clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
The program costs $35 per person and includes lunch. This year, to honor our young working fellow Sanibelians, we are happy to offer lunch for $10 a person for those under 40.
