CAPTIVA ISLAND, Fla. – Swim in pristine Gulf waters, bike on a course closed to vehicular traffic and enjoy a scenic island run at the South Seas Captiva Island Triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 28.
Sanctioned by USA Triathlon, the beginner-friendly event is sponsored by South Seas, Lee County Sports Development and Trek Bike Shops Florida, and features a Super Sprint Triathlon, which includes a 200-yard swim, five-mile bike ride and one-and-a-half-mile run.
For those seeking a bit of a harder challenge, the event also offers a Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, Sprint Aquabike and Spring Triathlon Relay. The Sprint Triathlon and Sprint Triathlon Relay consist of a quarter-mile swim, 10-mile bike ride and 5K run. The Sprint Duathlon includes a one-mile run, 10-mile bike ride and 5K run. The Sprint Aquabike features a quarter-mile swim and 10-mile bike ride.
All races begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, and registration closes at midnight on Sept. 28. To register for the South Seas Captiva Island Triathlon, visit the event page.
