The Sanibel Captiva Rotary Club recently added four Technical College Scholarships to its annual scholarship program, recognizing a need for these technical skills in our community and the lack of scholarships available for trade school students.

Students who are enrolled full-time at an accredited technical college are awarded the scholarship, which the student receives after completing half of the required program hours. The amount of the scholarship award is up to half of the annual tuition, up to a maximum of $5,000.

The three other technical college scholarship recipients are:
Norberto Serna, Ft Myers Trade College, studying Electrical
Lahaila Stephens Ft Myers Trade College, studying Electrical
Morgan Schwandt, Ft Myers Trade College, studying Cosmetology.

The Sanibel-Captiva Rotary meets at the Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way, and also on Zoom. Doors open at 7:30 a.m., and the meeting begins at 8 a.m. For more information about Rotary, visit sanibelrotary.org.
