Rotary supports investments in people to create measurable and enduring economic improvement in their lives and communities.
The Rotary Foundation enables Rotarians to invest in people by creating sustainable, measurable, and long-term economic improvements in their communities and livelihoods by building the capacity of entrepreneurs, community leaders, local organizations, and community networks to support economic development in impoverished communities; developing opportunities for productive work; reducing poverty in under-served communities; supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to economic and community development.
The work of Rotary begins in the community, and every community has its own unique needs and concerns. The San-Cap Rotary club addresses these concerns by supporting local nonprofit organizations such as Community Housing & Resources, FISH of SANCAP, Eva’s Closet, scholarships for trade schools, Harlem Heights Foundation, FK U Corp, Gladiolus Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, Harry Chapin Food Bank, and Hope Clubhouse, to name a few.
Tens of thousands of dollars are donated annually to organizations that help support and educate our community, both on the island and off.
Rotary is a service organization that has the motto, “Service above Self”. We strive to live by that motto daily as Rotarians, helping and serving our community.
