The Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club is proud to share that the newly formed Cypress Lake High School Interact Club has adopted three families in partnership with FISH of SanCap’s holiday drive. Through this effort, our students are making a positive impact right here in our community, Service Above Self!
Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs and bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. The Cypress Lake High School’s Interact Club is funded by the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club, along with a sister club at The Sanibel School. The high school club has grown to over ten active members in its first weeks of creation and is still looking for new members.
The name “Interact” is a blend of the words “international” and “action”, reflecting the club’s mission to inspire students to take meaningful action both locally and internationally.
FISH of Sanibel-Captiva is a non-profit with a mission “to enrich the lives of all people in Sanibel and Captiva Islands by neighbors helping neighbors with social services, education, and assistance.” FISH recently launched its annual Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program. This year, it has identified 150 families in need. The program ensures personalized support for those who might otherwise go without during the holiday season. Donors can adopt an entire family and donate items requested from wish lists.
